How to Use Your Bloom Box to Send Your Wedding Flowers for Preservation
Our Bloomy Day Bloom Box has been designed to make sending your wedding flowers to us as simple, safe and stress-free as possible.
If you’re not able to drop your flowers to our Ballarat studio in person, our Bloom Box is the easiest way to package and send your blooms to us after your wedding. It includes the materials and instructions you need to help keep your flowers supported during transit, giving them the best possible chance of arriving in beautiful condition for preservation.
Whether you’re preserving your bouquet in resin, a pressed frame or a 3D shadow box, getting your flowers to us safely is the very first step.
What is a Bloom Box?
A Bloom Box is our custom flower transport box, created specifically for fresh wedding flowers being sent for preservation.
Unlike a standard postage box, the Bloom Box has been designed with flower safety in mind. Each box has extra thickened, insulated walls to support your bouquet, a custom bouquet holder insert to reduce movement during transport, and carefully selected packing materials to support hydration and make the packing process much easier after your wedding day.
Because let’s be honest - the morning after your wedding is not the time to be DIY'ing a bouquet box out of old cardboard and hope.

Who is the Bloom Box best for?
Our Bloom Box is ideal if:
- You’re located interstate or regionally
- You can’t drop your flowers to our studio in person
- You want clear instructions and packaging ready to go
- You’d prefer not to work out your own box, wrapping and support materials
- You want the easiest option for your partner, family member or friend to pack after the wedding

Before your wedding day
We recommend organising your Bloom Box before your wedding, so everything is ready to go when the big day arrives.
Before the wedding, make sure you:
- Open your Bloom Box and read through the instructions
- Keep all packaging materials together
- Choose who will be responsible for packing your flowers after the wedding
- Make sure your nominated person knows where the box is
- Keep your flowers in water and somewhere cool after the event
The best person to pack your flowers is usually not the bride. You’ve done enough. Hand that job over.
After the wedding
Once the wedding is over, your flowers should be placed into fresh water as soon as possible.
Keep them somewhere cool, out of direct sunlight and away from heaters, windows or hot cars. Fresh flowers can deteriorate quickly, especially after a full wedding day, so the sooner they are hydrated and prepared for travel, the better.
If your bouquet includes a ribbon, charm, photo or sentimental item keep these safe, and please only include these in your delivery if they are part of your preservation order.
How to pack your flowers in the Bloom Box
Your Bloom Box will include detailed instructions, so always follow the guide provided with your kit.

A note about flower condition
Please remember that fresh flowers are natural, delicate and already have a big day behind them by the time they reach us.
Some bruising, softening, fading or petal damage can happen during the wedding day or while in transit. This is completely normal and does not automatically mean your flowers cannot be preserved.
When your flowers arrive, our team will assess them and choose the best blooms and details for your final piece.
FAQ'S
When should you send your Bloom Box?
Your flowers should be sent to us as soon as possible after your wedding.
The faster we receive them, the better the preservation outcome is likely to be. We recommend planning your flower transport before your wedding day so there is no last-minute panic afterwards.
If your wedding is on a weekend, have your nominated person follow the instructions provided and arrange postage or delivery as soon as possible.
Can I include extra flowers?
Yes, if you have extra flowers available, we recommend including them.
Extra blooms give our team more choice when designing your final piece, especially if some flowers have been damaged during the day. This can be particularly helpful if you are ordering multiple pieces, pendants or add-ons.
You can include flowers from your bouquet, your partner’s buttonhole, bridesmaid bouquets, ceremony flowers or other meaningful arrangements, as long as they are suitable for your order.
Is there things we shouldn't do?
To help protect your flowers, please avoid:
- Leaving them in a hot car
- Wrapping the flower heads tightly in plastic
- Sending flowers loose in a large box
- Overfilling the box so the blooms are crushed
- Letting the flowers dry out before packing
- Waiting several days before sending them
Flowers are dramatic little things. They do not love heat, neglect or being squashed. Relatable right??
What happens once my flowers arrive at your studio?
Once your flowers arrive at Bloomy Days, our team will unpack and assess them before beginning the preservation process.
From there, your blooms will be carefully prepared depending on your chosen preservation method, whether that is resin, pressed framing or a 3D shadow box.
